You have been lied to because you’ve been told by every person, treatment clinic, recovering alcoholic, AA meeting, doctor and of course your spouse that YOU MUST STOP DRINKING—abstinence is the only way to stop the self- destruction.
After all, everybody knows this, right? You must quit now, attend AA meetings as often as possible, and maintain sobriety no matter what. You are an alcoholic for life, there is no cure, you can never have another drink, the cravings never stop and you’re powerless to help yourself. Turn it over to your higher power.
Prepare yourself for some shocking news—- believe it or not, there is another way. A method that has an astounding success rate between 78% and 95%. This method is called THE SINCLAIR METHOD (TSM) and was developed over 40 years of research by Dr. David Sinclair. So successful was this method that the United States Federal Drug Administration (FDA) approved in 1994 for the treatment of alcohol dependence. It uses an inexpensive drug called NALTREXONE to block the pleasure sensations associated with drinking alcohol. Over time, the cravings lessen and eventually stop altogether.
If what I am telling you is true, then why isn’t this information available to all those who struggle with alcohol dependence? Why haven’t I heard about this before? I believe the answer lies in the archaic model of Recovery, the fear and ignorance of the medical profession, and the threat of lost income by the billion dollar Recovery industry.
Under the current model of treatment, an individual voluntarily enters a Rehab facility, is medically monitored to stop the alcohol, and is put through intensive inpatient/outpatient counseling. Most often, this is the 12-Step model of Alcoholics Anonymous. Abstinence is the goal and it is mandatory. Patients are told this is the best and only way to recover from their addiction. Patients have no other option but to comply and follow this model.
Sadly, patients are never told about The Sinclair Method and that there’s another way of helping them with their alcohol dependence. After trying every possible way to control her alcoholism, TV and movie actress Claudia Christian finally succeeded with TSM. She now shares her story to inspire others with alcohol addiction to seek help.
